Alcohol Consumpsion - Depression - Age Category

Introduction

Nesarc dataset is used for alcohol consumption, related age category, and depression data.

Getting Data



In Nesarc dataset, four columns are needed for analysis. 

Consumer: Alcoholic Consumption
Age : Ages
S2AQ4B : How often drank coolers in the last month
Majordeplife: The people who experience depression

Preparing Data


The people who are current and Ex drinkers and their ages between 20 and 50 are filtered for this research.

S2AQ4B (How often drank coolers in the last month) is also recoded as year in a new variable USFREALC

Null Hypothesis 1

There is no connection with alcohol consumption and depression.

F Test on Alcohol Consumption and Depression


F-Statistics is really high. 0.706 is higher than 0.05 so we can accept the null hypothesis. "There is no connection with alcohol consumption and depression."

Null Hypothesis 2

There is no connection with alcohol consumption and depression.

F Test on Alcohol Consumption anz    d Age


F-Statistics is really low. so we can reject the null hypothesis. "There is strong connection with alcohol consumption and age."

Standart Deviation For Alcohol Consumption by Age Category
Tucan Test 

The age group 20 - 25 is totaly different group than the others. So we need to reject the null hyptothesis within these groups.
